Night Fishing Update – 25th March 2021
Right, so since having posted the news about Night Fishing we have been contacted by the Angling Trust who have offered further advice. The initial advice we were given put doubt in our mind that we were maybe going to open ourselves and members up to problems, and therefore for safety we decided to stop night fishing. It seems this was a mistake and the wrong decision.
We are pleased to announce that following further conversations with the Angling Trust we are now confident that Night Fishing is allowed and will therefore be implemented.
We are sorry for the confusion, but please understand we were only acting on the info given, and to make sure the Club and the Members were safe and following rules. We may have been over cautious, but this is the responsibility we have.
So, from the 29th March – Night Fishing is allowed. 24hrs max on all waters except for Sinah which is 48hr max stay. Please remember Soake and Brownwich are still closed. Please ensure you are following social distancing, stay safe and enjoy – we got there in the end.

Fishing Reopen From Tomorow – Please Read!
It is with relief, that the Angling Trust have worked hard and can now confirm that Angling is allowed again. This comes with some conditions:
– This is a strictly limited resumption of LOCAL fishing and very different to how we have been allowed to operate since May.
– We are in a National Lockdown and this must be respected. The law requires a ‘reasonable excuse’ to leave your home or penalties will apply.
– The government has recognised that fishing can be seen as exercise, which is expressly permitted under the lockdown rules, although outdoor recreation is not.
– Organised sporting gatherings are prohibited so no match fishing.
– The exercise is limited to once a day so no overnight fishing whatsoever.
– To remain within the law you should follow the government’s guidance, and only fish locally within the district where you live. If you have no local fishing available then you will have to take your daily exercise in other ways.
Night fishing is not allowed, so please ensure you follow the guidance above. Further info can be found on the Angling Trust website.

No Day Tickets, Exchange Books or Guest Tickets are available.
Therefore, PDAS is pleased to announce our waters will reopen tomorrow (8th Jan 2021) at Sunrise, the only exception is Brownwich which will at reopen sunrise on Saturday 9th for booked members.
Members are required to follow the government rulings, all COVID safety rules and Social distancing must be strictly adhered to.

Following the Angling Trust advice all PDAS Waters are now closed with IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

PDAS Covid Updates – 21st Dec 2020 – Please Read
Firstly, thank you all for your patience. Along with the Angling Trust guidelines (link below) which we ask you to familiarise yourself with.

You can fish within your allocated Tier group. Members MUST NOT travel between Tier Groups. Neither Higher to Lower, Nor Lower to Higher. No mixing of different Tiers. Do not travel to a water through a different Tier Group. Day Tickets and Guest Tickets are now suspended. Bailiffs will still be carrying out checks.
If you are approached by a Bailiff, please place your membership card on the floor and move back more than 2 meters.
You may be asked to prove where you live, so please respect the Government rules. If members are found not to be following the rules above, then the club will have no option but to take disciplinary action.
We all need to stick to this and stay safe. PLEASE follow the AT advice and the rules above.
Please remember not to congregate in carparks, keep the correct distances when walking around waters and please ensure you are sanitising your self and things you touch (gates/ locks etc)

Following advice, the PDAS are pleased to confirm the following in addition to the General Water Rules and Specific Water Rules:
1 – All waters will re- open on Wednesday 13th May at 12 noon. Exchange books are not currently available. Day tickets & Guest tickets are available, please check website for details.
2 – All waters will have restrictions to conform to Angling Trust and Government guidelines. This could mean for example that certain swims are closed and taped off. Under NO circumstances is fishing allowed outside the swims that are open
3 – Maximum stay on any water is limited to 24 hours.
4 – Anglers must take notice of social distancing rules. They must always remain at least 2 metres distant from other anglers or club officials. Swims may be shared if the 2 metre rules is adhered to and tackle is not shared.
5 – Anglers MUST carry their own hand sanitizers to use after opening gates and pad locks.
6 – Anglers who car share with people from a different household MUST ensure they follow the current GOV guidelines. Take particular care when parking not to break social distancing rules. (updated 27th June 2020)
7 – Bailiffs will still be checking memberships and adherence to rules. This will be carried out at a safe distance; you need to show your membership and not pass it to the bailiff. Do not approach within 2 metres of a bailiff.
8 – Do not visit any water if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Stay at home and follow Government advice on isolation.
9 – Anyone breaking these rules or existing club rules will be asked to leave and reported to the disciplinary committee.
Please stay safe and be responsible for your actions to protect yourself and other anglers and understand that there may be times you turn up and all swims are taken.
