This lovely river runs for around 5 miles through picturesque countryside and farmland, where good catches of many species can be had from the pools and glides. Simple tactics and baits are usually best, using light tackle. Anglers are permitted to clear nettles and brambles, which should be left tidily on the bank within the swim area. Stock consists of Chub, Roach, Carp, Dace, Perch, Gudgeon, Trout (Brown and Sea), Rudd, and in recent years Bream, Tench and Salmon Parr have also been caught.
All general water rules apply plus the following:
1. No fishing on the North bank between Troll Bridge at Whitedell Farm and the bottom of the Boarhunt stretch, the garden of Boarhunt Mill and the gardens of any properties that back on to the river.
2. Fishing from 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset only.
3. Crayfish must be removed. All other fish must be returned to the water with the exception of Minnows for live bait.
4. All nets must be dried completely after fishing in order to stop the spread of Crayfish to other waters. It is advisable to use a different net for fishing the Wallington.
5. Fly fishing is permitted from 3rd April to 31st October inclusive
6. Close season for Coarse fishing 15th March to 15th June inclusive.
7. Only Minnows can be used as live bait, these may be caught and transported between sections but any left after the session must be returned to the river.
8. A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed, but must be controlled and kept on a short lead at all times. Please be aware that cattle are present on the farm.

Closed season for coarse 15th March to 15th June inclusive. Fly-fishing for trout is permitted from 3rd April to 31st October.
